Changes to Aetna’s precertification transaction make submitting your requests easier than ever!
Log in with your user name and password and check out some of the changes:
Precert submission is now a single selection on Aetna Plan Central.
Within the new Precert submission screen, you can select from the following precert types: Inpatient, Outpatient, Home Health, DME, Ambulance, or Office.
The screens are now dynamic! That means the screen will automatically change to ask you only what is necessary for that type of service.
You can “transaction hop” from Eligibility and Benefits (E&B) to Precert submission without having to re-enter patient information.
Clinical Contact name, telephone number, and extension will now save the last entered name, so you will not have to re-enter this information each time.
A new comment field to input additional information relevant to your request.
Level of service indicator select emergency, urgent or elective.
Now available! Precert status updates - You are now able to see when the statuses of your precertification requests have been updated by Aetna (i.e. pended to Certified in Total).
