More Than 65 Percent of U.S. Healthcare Providers Interact with National and Local Health Plans through NaviNet’s Multi-payer Web Portal
Denver, CO (MGMA, Booth #842) —October 12, 2009—NaviNet, America’s largest real-time healthcare communications network, today announced that 800,000 healthcare providers across the United States are now enrolled in the NaviNet Network. Two out of every three U.S. healthcare providers use the NaviNet multi-payer Web portal to interact with national and local health plans, completing more than 22 million real-time clinical, administrative and financial transactions per month, including more than 1.7 million clinical data exchanges.
As the NaviNet Network continues to grow, so does the NaviNet value-add to health plans and providers. For more than a decade, NaviNet has helped health plans solve real business problems and enhance their provider communications with the Company’s unique combination of innovative technology and comprehensive knowledge of provider-payer work flows. For providers, the use of NaviNet to electronically exchange health information yields significant cost savings. According to a study by CAQH, by processing insurance eligibility verifications electronically, U.S. healthcare providers can save more than $2 billion a year1.
“With stimulus dollars at stake, state governments, health plans and providers across the country are focusing on investing in technologies to support health information exchange initiatives,” said Brad Waugh, president and chief executive officer of NaviNet. “NaviNet, an already established network that supports meaningful data exchange between health insurers and most of the healthcare providers in the country, is an obvious choice for an HIE solution because it does not require investment in new technology or infrastructure.”
Over the past year, several NaviNet health plan customers have expanded the capabilities of their NaviNet portals to take advantage of new features, including NaviNet Clinical Messaging, PHR delivery and real-time estimation and adjudication. This momentum has enabled provider offices around the U.S. to connect and access even more financial, administrative and clinical patient information. In addition, provider offices will see reduced administrative costs, improved billing cycles and increased quality of patient care.
