              NaviNet provides web access to a wide array of custom healthcare transactions.  Our solution is used by over 770,000+ healthcare providers across the country.  The web site provides efficiencies and cost-savings to both our health plan customers and the offices that use our product by converting paper and telephone-based workflows to electronic workflows that are accessed easily within a browser.  In addition, NaviNet provides a number of value-add transactions with other healthcare software applications, such as care management, revenue cycle, and clinical systems.  NaviNet features encompass a spectrum – from those that are jointly developed with our customers and partners, to those that are a common part of the NaviNet offering and are developed entirely by our staff.  We maintain an extremely high level of customer and end user satisfaction by taking great means to ensure that our product meets our end users needs and truly makes the provider office more efficient.  Whether working closely with a customer to deliver a custom workflow, or with internal staff to deliver a value-add feature, you will be expected to provide a high quality product.

               

              Position Purpose:

               

              We’re seeking an experienced, self-motivated, passionate, highly productive Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join the NaviNet Engineering Team. The DBA will work closely with reporting, engineering and systems teams to enhance the performance and functionality of existing systems. The DBA will also participate in the design and delivery of new database solutions in our development, test, and production environments. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of enterprise-scale DB deployments in online real-time environments, as well as performance tuning, schema design, capacity planning, and monitoring. In addition, that candidate is expected to be self-starters who can operate well under a variety of different situations and types of projects, ranging from a team of one to a team of many. We’re looking for someone that believes learning and continuous improvement is the primary responsibilities of a DBA..

               

              Responsibilities:

               

              • Work closely primarily with reporting team to monitor, plan, and implement the synchronization of data across several reporting, development, testing and production environments.
              • Provide regular updates on database health to Delivery stakeholders.
              • Work with reporting and development teams to tune SQL queries.
              • Run diagnostic tools to identify database performance bottlenecks, and take appropriate corrective actions to improve database performance. Develop tools and reports if necessary.
              • Manage backup/recovery for SQL Server instances.
              • Performs problem resolution and root cause analysis along with recommending and implementing preventive techniques.
              • Work with reporting and engineering teams on logical / physical database design to support new and existing application development. Maintain data models and keep them up to date.
              • Develop database specifications, documentation.
              • Evaluate the merits/ benefits of available system upgrades and enhancements - implement as necessary.
              • Develop in-depth knowledge of business processes facilitated by our software products.
              • Develop in-depth knowledge of our software products. Keep abreast of the changing market for information services and tools.

               

              Requirements:

              5 years of DBA in-depth SQL Server experience in the following areas: 

              • 5 years SQL 2000, 3-4 years SQL 2005 1-2 years, SQL 2008 a plus.
              •  Majority of experience must be associated with supporting data warehouse/BI environments.
              •  24x7 SQL Server monitoring, proactive and reactive maintenance.
              • Experience automating the execution and notification of database related processes.
              • Support of large enterprise-wide high availability real-time databases.
              • Backups/Restores from Tape and Disk media.
              • Database & SQL statement tuning.
              •  System upgrades, capacity estimation.
              • Data acquisition/data loading tools and process.
              • Experience with the following BI components SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.
              • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
              • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
              • Designing relational database structure layouts (physical and logical).
              • MCDBA and/or MCITP: Database Administration certifications a plus.
